Unfiled Tax Returns

The American tax system is founded upon voluntary compliance. One critical aspect of voluntarily complying with tax laws are to file tax returns when due.

However, when an individual or entity fails to file tax returns, the Internal Revenue Code allows the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue to file a return on your behalf. Such a return usually results in a massive tax liability because such returns are usually prepared without deductions, exemptions or credits that the taxpayer is legally entitled to.

Further, if the government files a return for a taxpayer, the amount owed on the return may not be discharged in Bankruptcy and in certain scenarios, the government may criminally prosecute you for the failure to file a tax return.

If you want to comply, but are concerned that you do not have information that is needed to accurately prepare a tax return, we can obtain the proper documentation from the IRS and Franchise Tax Board in order to assist you in accurately preparing your delinquent income tax return.

If you have unfiled tax returns, contact us so that we could get you into tax compliance.
